Novus Property Solutions Chairman Speaks on Awards Ceremony

The recent Novus Property Solutions ceremony that has taken place is an event dedicated towards recognizing the ongoing efforts and achievements of the company over the course of the year. With the York office department being blessed with receiving the new Health and Safety award, it is evident from this that Novus wants to emphasize a trajectory in its ethos that provides the safety, comfort and wellbeing of the company’s dedicated team of staff members, who were the reason for the awards ceremony in the first place anyway. Indeed, the chairman of the company Stuart Seddon expressed his pleasure that the awards ceremony went so swimmingly: the Employee Excellence Awards are indeed a fantastic way of bringing people from all over the company together in order to celebrate the wonderful achievements that the company has made over the years. Through the implementation of a various new number of initiatives and contractual agreements the company has increasingly proven itself to be one of the most hardworking and developing enterprises in the property and development trade. All in all, the decision to go ahead with the Employee Excellence Awards are a sobering reminder that no company or business could actually operate without the dedication and daily efforts of a good staff base, and something like the Novus Property Solutions awards are a good way of reminding individuals that without them, the company would simply not be where it is today. Stuart Seddon was adamant that the continued efforts and diligence of the dedicated workforce are the reason for these celebratory occasions to take place and that all who attended, whether they won a particular award or not, ought to give themselves a large pat on the back anyway for their hard work over the years. Indeed, with the implementation of new award categories such as safety this year, it is clear that Novus are hoping to credit more and more employees for the hard work and sense of wellbeing that they create every working day of every year.

Joint Partnership Able to Work on University of Glasgow

Two different companies have joined forces together in order to collaborate and have succeeded as a result of this of being able to work a masterful new plan of theirs on the renovation of the University of Glasgow. Indeed, it is a sure sign that consistent collaboration and cooperation between different firms in different industries can eventually pay off and reap the rewards for those involved. This is certainly the case for both AECOM as well as 7N Architects, who have recently been awarded planning permission to renovate and restructure the University of Glasgow for the better. Indeed, the plans by both AECOM and 7N Architects will involve working on a new 85,000 meters square in order to bring the various sides of the Glasgow campus together and to ensure that the city remains proud to be the home of one of the best universities in the whole of Scotland. It is clear that this master plan will be able to ensure that all new graduates, professors and individuals who come through the university’s  quarters will be able to see a brand new, fully integrated campus that will hopefully encourage more students than ever before to settle there. Furthermore, the planned implementation of new buildings and structures of various shapes and sizes being given consent by Glasgow City Council is a significant step in the proceedings for the efforts of AECOM and 7N, who will ensure over the next half of the decade that the £430 million price tag to build on the university grounds will be money well spent. Such sentiments are equally evoked by a member of the collegiate itself, Professor Anton Muscatelli, who is very pleased that the Glasgow City Council has commended the project with their much-needed seal of approval. With this development in the proceedings in place, work to improve the campus and to bring its existing parts together into a cohesive whole can now begin.

Housing Market Calming Down, According to eMoov CEO

Russell Quirk the Chief Executive Officer of property agency eMoov has released a few things to say regarding the current state of the housing market, which is apparently seeing homes in the country rise in value more slowly than they were before, suggesting that some form of stability seems to have returned to the market. Quirk explains that one must accept a slowing down of rate levels in any case, due to the stagnation expected around the seasonal Christmas period. Things are therefore to be expected to have slowed themselves down somewhat in any case due to the simple fact that less people are likely to want to invest time and effort in the housing and property market around the Christmas season when they want to spend time with their families and friends. The slowing down overall thus seems to reflect this, but Quirk adds that things will certainly pick up again soon now that the tinsel season is over and business is opening up again as usual. Therefore it seems evident that the springtime season will show a rise once again because more people will be wanting to activate themselves again to get the year going with their plans to invest and change homes. Russell Quirk also adds that in any case the survey itself that has found this out (Rightmove) bases its data and results on the asking price of those whom it interviewed, and this is therefore not the same as the sold price itself. What it does however unarguably show is the expectations of people who believe that the market is at a lower rate than it actually is. Confidence is not what is used to be but the Rightmove survey did indicate a 3% rise in the amount of traffic that agencies are experiencing, showing that there is still much be said about the construction industry and housing development projects in the future months to come.

Castleoak Complete Development for Retirement Villages

The building and construction contracting company known as Catleoak has finished its involvement with Retirement Villages to get Elmbridge Manor ready to open its doors to the new retirement community that will be able to benefit from the new space for retirement. Before December 2016, Castleoak and Retirement Villages worked extremely hard together in order to ensure that the stately location in Surrey would be able to suit the needs and conditions of the new residents that would come through its doors. Indeed, with the implementation of 19 brand new accommodation locations for residents, it is evident that the site will be ideal for those wanting to retire to a life of peace, calm and monetary luxury. Elmbridge Manor will equally contain such resources as a bar and food outlet, as well as a library, surgery and many other meet-and-greet facilities in order to ensure that the lives of its new residents are as comfortable as possible. This will also ensure that the Cranleigh community where the Surrey manor is based will be able to benefit from an influx of greater work opportunities for its population, who will be able to work in the new retirement home and is therefore also good news for the community’s ongoing prosperity and infrastructure. Of course, the work never ends for Castleoak, who have now embarked on yet another building development in the location, this time to implement the construction of some 20 brand new apartment spaces for future residents. James Player of Castleoak is also very pleased that the company has worked well and diligently with Retirement Villages in order to deliver the necessary building projects that are the pride and joy of the company. It is clear that the collaboration with Retirement Villages has been an enjoyable and fruitful one and it is hoped that they will continue to collaborate with the same ease on the future projects on Elmbridge Manor.

MTC Implements New Team to Improve Developments

The Manufacturing Technology Center is pleased to announce that it has implemented a new A-Team that will be able to put investment and development at the forefront of the construction industry in Britain. The fact that the age of digitalization and the advances of technology in the field will require a very experienced and knowledgeable team of individuals to work out what the building industry can do to improve itself and grow in the new age of the 21st Century. The new squad will include Phil Cartwright, Susan Hone-Brookes and Trudi Sully who are all experienced individuals in board membership and management of the building and construction industries in this country. It is evident that they will be able to use their vast range of experience and management capabilities to ensure that the focus of the building industry remains on developing a solid infrastructure for itself so that it can conduct its business transactions as smoothly and in as efficient and sustainable a way as possible. This initiative is part of the Manufacturing Technology Center’s desire to continue to ensure that the building, design and construction industry has a solid footing in the uncertain world market of today and it is important that it first establishes a firm bedrock of an infrastructure so that it can then continue to develop and prosper as effectively and as safely as possible. With the country’s governing forces passing a strategy for building businesses to achieve greater sustainability and reduce their impact on the environment by the year 2025, MTC’s development of a new team of individuals specially dedicated towards this subject should enable businesses to see 2025 as an achievable target. Naming this plan “Working Together: Transforming Construction,” it is evident that they are very concerned with achieving what the government has demanded them to do. Through the joint efforts of Messrs Cartwright, Hone-Brooks and Sully, this can be transformed from a government pipe dream into a foreseeable reality.

CALA Group Generate Growth in Housing Sector

The worry that not enough homes are being built in the United Kingdom under this Tory government is at least being assuaged a little by the consistent efforts of CALA Group, a building and construction company that has worked extremely hard to produce as many construction and property developments as possible this year. Inside the doors of the Legal & General Capital sector, CALA has shown that its diligence and hard work over the year has ensured that it is able to generate even greater amounts of house building revenue and investments than it could have done without them. Through the efforts and hard work of CALA, Legal & General Capital have already been able to invest no less than £8 billion into improving the infrastructure that will help to provide more and more land development as well as employment opportunities for people all over the country. Legal & General Capital’s respected MD Paul Stamworth explains that in the three years since acquiring almost half of CALA’s equity, CALA has generated profit growth that has soared from an already impressive 35 per cent to a staggering 370 per cent in the last financial year. Their investment in CALA was clearly a wise one and CALA’s consistent good maintenance of trading and property building means that it will be in good stead to challenge the threats posed to the English economy through the exit from the European Union. Even at this moment, CALA reports that its trading results in the first few weeks of the New Year were very good, and the building company has acquired vital planning permission to work on 15 areas around the UK that will create1533 brand new properties with a development venture valued at £648 million. Additional thanks must be made to CALA now that Legal & General Capital intends to feed an extra £15 billion for other enterprises in the United Kingdom.

BCA Opens a New Center in Manchester

The Belle Vue area in the bustling city of Manchester is experiencing an exciting building and construction initiative that will help it to ensure that work is complete on time for an all new LCV remarketing site. The building work itself is well under way and targeted to be completed and ready for the site to roll by Q3 2017. An ambitious venture indeed for the city as a whole, the site will be a total of 6.5 acres large and is situated right next to a 32 acre auctioning outlet. Representing the first time that BCA have ever built a remarketing facility for light commercial vehicles, this represents a very significant step in the business’ progression on the market and will mean that it stands taller than ever alongside other transport and logistics competitors. Indeed, it has been reported that once up and running the brand new facility will be capable of showcasing under the cover a grand maximum total of 400 vehicles. Similarly, in the company’s emphasis on building more and more areas of technological capability, full “Online Support” will equally be provided once the site is fully up and running. The year 2016 was, despite the financial fluctuations and the economic uncertainty that many businesses have experienced and still are experiencing, a very lucrative one for the transport industry, particularly in the LCV sector. This is clearly something which BCA plans to capitalize and invest upon and its decision to build in Manchester represents its commitment to generating good transport and logistics services to companies and enterprises in a variety of different enterprises and industries, particularly in the Northern regions of the country. Indeed, Duncan Ward of BCA emphasizes that the Belle Vue area will be ideal not only for the future of the company but also for the future of the plans to make the idea of the “Northern Powerhouse” a reality come true.

Is “Bob the Builder” an Accurate Depiction of Safe Building in This Country?

The rise of health and safety standards in the workplace means that it is more important than ever for companies to consider the various methods of PPE that they can procure for their workers. To use an example of a popular media source, the friendship between Bob the Builder and his truck friends Scoop, Muck, Dizzy et al indicates a harmony between man and machine that building and construction companies would be well advised to follow as an example in the future years to come. Not enough building and construction firms or private contractors in this company set themselves the appropriate accreditation of health and safety standards that ought to be met on every worksite in this country. Whilst there are many companies in the industry, as has been mentioned in previous articles of this kind, that are dedicated to supplying decent and protective PPE to their employees and are concerned with achieving targets of “Zero Harm” and reduced damage costs, it is evident that more firm managers and site supervisors need to follow the example set by the children’s television series in order to ensure that the safety of their onsite workers are not put into jeopardy as they so often are. Whilst it might seem easy for a grown man to sneer at a show like Bob the Builder with the serpentine hiss of the cynical adult, it is evident that more construction firms need to go back to basics and put the safety and wellbeing of their workforce first before anything else. Indeed, history has shown all too well the ignorance and lack of commitment to health and safety in the workplace. The steep rise in fines reported by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) this year is something which all enterprises in the building and construction industry need to be aware of. Watching Bob the Builder might not be a cure, but it might be one way of arousing the respect and compassion that all members of the construction workforce deserve but which so many (as the IOSH demonstrates) do not get.
