The project will see Glencar undertake extensive racking, sprinkler and office fit-out works within Ikea’s giant new 450,000 sq ft distribution centre recently completed located at the former Littlebrook Power Station site on the south bank of the River Thames in London. The works will also include the construction of a new additional storage unit in the service yard together with the installation of a security gatehouse, vehicle ramps and fencing adaptions. PLP appoints Glencar on new 456,000 sq ft speculative big box unit in Crewe

Project constitutes the final phase of PLP’s prime employment park development at Basford West in Crewe. Glencar, a construction company that was recently ranked amongst Europe’s fastest growing businesses, has today announced that it has been awarded a project by specialist developer, manager and owner of UK logistics and industrial properties PLP to construct a new 456,736 sq ft (Crewe 460) speculative big box logistics unit at a prime development site at Basford West in Crewe. The project constitutes the final phase of PLP’s development on the prime employment park with construction work expected to start imminently and completion scheduled for December this year. It is Glencar’s third scheme for PLP, following the successful completion of the first phase at Crewe in 2020 and a further development at Ellesmere Port. Crewe 460 is being constructed to be a ‘best-in-class’ warehouse and logistics facility featuring 15M clear internal height, 72M deep service yard, three-story external offices of over 30,000 sq ft together with a separately accessed car park with 442 spaces. As with all PLP speculatively developed units, Crewe 460 will be constructed in accordance with the UK Green Building Council Carbon Net Zero standard. The design has been developed to minimise embodied carbon during construction. It also includes numerous measures to enable the end occupier to transition easily and affordably to carbon net zero operation including solar photovoltaics, air source heating and cooling, LED lighting and electric car charging points. Further, the building is designed for the occupier’s future flexibility such as a strengthened roof to enable full coverage of solar photovoltaics and underground infrastructure to allow 100% of all car and HGV parking spaces to have electric charging points. Tungsten Properties sells Essex development to private investor for £7.25 million

Tungsten Properties, one of the UK’s leading mid-box industrial and warehouse developers, has sold its three-unit industrial development at Eastways Industrial Estate, Witham, Essex, which was pre-let to OMG How Cheap Ltd, the online discount stationery superstore, to a private investor for £7.25 million representing a net initial yield of 4.75%. The three high specification logistics units total 45,000 sq ft and were completed in December 2021 with OMG How Cheap set to officially move into its new space in Q1 2022. The development was funded by Tungsten’s balance sheet, alongside its £50 million revolving credit facility with Fortwell Capital. Justin McVeigh, associate development director at Tungsten Properties said: “The sale of our Witham development is credit to Tungsten’s project team who built it during challenging conditions, ready for the simultaneous sale to the private investor and completion of OMG How Cheap’s lease. It is great news for the tenant which will have a more efficient building in terms of both energy and operations while generating more jobs for the local area. Firethorn Trust appoints Glencar Construction on prime logistics development in Peterborough.

The appointment is Glencar’s first to be awarded by Firethorn Trust and reflects the growing customer confidence in the business. The development will create circa 500,000 sq ft of logistics space across three units, and is expected to be complete by late 2022. The scheme will be delivered to net-zero carbon in construction and target an ‘Excellent’ BREEAM rating, with a sustainable infrastructure that features more than 40,000 sq. ft. of photovoltaic arrays as standard, 48 electric vehicle charging points, and 15% roof lighting. Bericote chooses Glencar to construct new 780,000 sq ft mega logistics and industrial scheme in Coventry.

The project will see the demolition of the redundant Goliath unit together with enabling works to make way for the design and build of three new industrial/logistics units totalling 780,000 sq ft on a 43-acre site to be known as Coventry Logistics Park in Coventry. Glencar, an expanding construction company specialising in the industrial, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, life science and pharmaceutical sectors has today announced that it has been awarded a contract by specialist logistics commercial property developers Bericote Properties to construct 780,000 sq ft of speculative industrial space across three new units at a site in Coventry to be known as Coventry Logistics Park. Works commenced at the start of the month with demolition of the existing building together with enabling works.  The project is expected to be complete by the summer of next year. It will feature three units of 484,000 sq ft, 251,000 sq ft and 47,000 sq ft, which have been designed by leading architects Corstorphine & Wright. All the units will be built to BREEAM Excellent rating with the two larger units totalling 15 metre eaves and the smaller unit 10 metres. Glencar awarded debut instructions from St. Modwen Logistics on two new logistics and manufacturing developments

The projects will see the construction of a new 196,000 sq ft build to suit manufacturing facility for Stovax at a site in Exeter in addition to a 89,000 sq ft industrial distribution unit for Furniturebox at a site in Chippenham. Glencar, an expanding construction company specialising in the industrial, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, life science and pharmaceutical sectors has today announced that it has been awarded two new project instructions by logistics and industrial specialist St. Modwen Logistics at strategic development sites in Exeter and Chippenham. At the site in Exeter within St Modwen’s Skypark Development in Clyst Honiton, Glencar will construct a 196,000 sq ft build to suit manufacturing facility for Stovax – the UK’s largest stove and fireplace producer. In addition to the base build works Glencar will undertake Cat A and Cat B fit out together with associated external works. At the site at St Modwen Park in Chippenham, Glencar will undertake the construction of a single unit of 89,000 sq ft of industrial distribution and storage space, complete with integral offices, internal plant deck and associated external works for online furniture specialist Furniturebox. Both projects are due to commence shortly and be completed during Q2 2021. The office is situated within the iconic Neo Building in the heart of the central business district and is the second regional office that Glencar has opened away from its St Albans HQ. The opening of this new office in the North West together with the Birmingham office is a real indicator of regional expansion with turnover expected to reach £250M this year. Several new positions have been created as a result of the office opening including the recruitment of Dawa Singh as North Regional Director from Sheffield based national construction company J.F Finnegan where he served as Head of Pre-Construction. Fit out works on a 525,600 sq ft warehouse at Haydock, St Helens occupied by Kellogg Company. Works were carried out while the facility was live.
