Schiedel Chimney Solutions Celebrates 50 Years with Visit from Local MP

Schiedel Chimney Systems have been celebrating their 50th year. In order to make this business milestone, Schiedel received a visit from Sharon Hodgson, who is a local MP to the Schiedel factory located in Washington, Tyne & Wear. Sharon visited the site on the 8th of September and was taken on a tour around the facility before officially cutting the ribbon on some of the Chimney system’s new state-of-the-art machinery. Sharon and her husband Alan were also presented with a commemorative Schiedel pen with the 50-year anniversary logo on. Schiedel Chimney Systems has been expanding for the last half a century in order to offer their customers high performance chimney and flue solutions that have been approved for use in modern eco-design housing. The solutions offered by Schiedel are suitable, for example, in the timber-framed Passivhaus buildings. Schiedel also deliver some of the longest warranties in the market, to demonstrate the quality of their solutions. The company has their roots in Germany, with the entrepreneur Friedrich Schiedel, who started with the production of double walled chimney systems which were produced at his former concrete factory in 1947. The company then went through a phase of European expansion in the 1960s and the company then stretched outside of mainland Europe in 1967 by beginning operations in the UK and Ireland. The company purchased the chimney system specialists Rite Vent Group in order to move into the British Market and since then have flourished as one of the main figures in industry and technological developments in this area. Schiedel Chimney Systems is a world brand, known for being a leading chimney manufacturer. Despite this, the company is still a family run organisation and is committed to keeping a focus on its employees. With the last 50 years being so successful, fingers crossed the next 50 years will be just as good.
