Those wishing to submit a paper are asked to use the specially developed template, so that it can ensure that all necessary details are included. “The Call for Papers, the abstract template as well as the sponsorship application forms can all be downloaded from the IWMA webpage or obtained from the IWMA head office in Hamburg,” announced Bettina McDowell, IWMA General Manager. The International Water Mist Association was founded in 1998 and is the first association of its kind dedicated exclusively to water mist firefighting and related technologies. It supports the continued development, research, and applications engineering of generic water mist systems. Its members are manufacturers, distributors, insurance companies, scientific institutes, approval bodies, fire departments, as well as private persons. The intention of the Association is to provide a forum for experts, manufacturers, users, and fire professionals active in the field of water mist fire suppression. Water mist systems offer environmental advantages such as the notably less water consumed by it compared to the traditional sprinkler systems, not contributing to ozone depletion or global warming, and not producing toxic by-products when applied to a fire.
