Editorial standards

BDC Magazine (Building, Design & Construction Magazine) has reported on the UK construction industry since 1998. These are the standards our journalism is held to.

Accuracy and corrections

We aim to report accurately and to attribute claims to their source. When we get something wrong, we correct the article promptly and note the correction at the foot of the piece. To request a correction, contact the editorial team via our contact page — corrections requests are reviewed within two working days.

Advertising and sponsored content

BDC Magazine is funded by advertising. Advertising never influences editorial coverage. Display advertising is held in dedicated banner positions, separate from the editorial columns and never inside the text of a story, and each one is marked as an advertisement for screen readers and search engines. Any article produced with or funded by a commercial partner is labelled as sponsored at the top of the piece. Editorial staff are not involved in selling advertising.

Sources and press material

Much of the industry news we publish originates from company announcements and press material. Where a story is based on a press release, we verify the core facts (project, value, parties) against the announcement and identify the companies involved. Analysis and commentary are our own.

Ownership and independence

BDC Magazine is independently owned and published in the United Kingdom. No parent company, investor or advertiser has approval over editorial content.
