The construction industry has welcomed e-learning with companies, suppliers and construction sites registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme undertaking 3,600 courses so far.
The construction industry’s online platform for sharing best practice, the Best Practice Hub, has launched a number of free e-learning courses which are designed to help raise industry standards.
Companies, suppliers and construction sites of all sizes registered with the Considerate Construction Scheme can undertake the e-learning courses, which are designed to improve their knowledge of the scheme in order to meet and exceed the expectations outlined by the scheme’s Code of Considerate Practice.
The e-learning courses are eligible for CPD and were launched to all users registered with the Best Practice Hub during May.
Since then, they have received a big response with more than 3,600 courses being taken by more than 750 individuals in the sector.
The e-learning courses improve users’ understanding of the scheme’s Monitors’ Checklist, while also providing a series of ideas to help properly prepare them for Monitors’ visits.
In total, there are six courses available. Five of these directly relate to the scheme’s Code of Considerate Practice: Value their Workforce; Secure everyone’s Safety; Protect the Environment; Respect the Community; Care about Appearance and one which provides an introduction to the Scheme.
Edward Hardy, Chief Executive of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, commented: “The Best Practice Hub’s e-learning courses provide a great resource for any site manager, contractor, supplier or client looking to improve their knowledge of the Scheme and meet and exceed the Scheme’s Code of Considerate Practice.”
Hardy added that the courses are practical and easy to access for users and help to achieve the ultimate goal of continuing to raise industry standard and improve its overall image.
Last month, Isabel Martinson was appointed as Executive Chairman of the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
