Glencar announces expansion of Midlands team with the appointment of new Operations Director

Mark Green joins from ISG and assumes the role of Operations Director working out of Glencar’s expanding Midland’s office. Glencar, a leading UK construction company that was recently ranked amongst Europe’s fastest growing businesses has today announced that it has hired Mark Green into the role of Operations Director. Mark will be based at Glencar’s expanding Midlands office based in Solihull, Birmingham. Mark joins from Construction Services Company ISG after more than 21 years with the business. He initially started out at ISG Pearce as Operations Manager and more latterly held the position of Divisional Operations Director based in Bristol, where he was also Account Lead for Tesco. In his role at ISG Mark oversaw leading programs of work along with large individual projects on the Tesco retail account together with several large multi-million Amazon distribution schemes. Speaking about the announcement Glencar CEO Eddie McGillycuddy said: “We are delighted to welcome Mark into the business who brings significant experience and expertise which will strengthen our Midlands office significantly. Glencar appointed to build STIHL Great Britain’s new headquarters and distribution facility in Surrey.

New state of the art 121,000 sq ft built to suit development will benefit from first class environmental facilities and include warehouse, office, training and workshop accommodation. Glencar, a leading UK construction company that was recently ranked amongst Europe’s fastest growing businesses, has today announced that it has been appointed by world renowned German manufacturer of chainsaws and other handheld power equipment STIHL to construct their new GB headquarters and distribution facility at a site in Surrey just off the A331. The new state of the art 121,000 sq ft development designed by Hale Architects will include 97,000 sq ft of warehouse space that will utilise state-of-the-art picking and storage systems to maximise productivity, efficiency and the use of space.  An adjoining 25,000 sq ft HQ will boast dedicated retailer training facilities, an on-site restaurant, flexible collaborative workspaces and a technical workshop. The development will also incorporate new car parking, service yard, landscaping and the construction of a new access from the adjoining A331. The new HQ also benefits from first-class environmental credentials including two-thirds of the total roof area (17,000 sq ft) covered with photovoltaic solar panels to provide power to the new facility. In addition, there will be provision for 26 EV charging points in anticipation of the continued move towards the use of electric vehicles. The project is expected to take 42 weeks to build with the new facility expected to be complete by May 2023. St Modwen Logistics appoints Glencar on key South Wales gateway development.

Instruction will see the design and build of four new industrial units ranging in size from 16,558 to 43,487 sq ft at St Modwen Park Newport. Glencar, a leading UK construction company that was recently ranked amongst Europe’s fastest growing businesses has today announced that it has been appointed by leading logistics developer and manager St Modwen Logistics to construct four new industrial units at St Modwen Park Newport. This phase of development totals 115,000 sq ft, with units ranging in size from 16,558 sq ft to 43,487 sq ft and is designed in accordance with the St. Modwen Swan Standard which focuses on sustainability, net carbon reduction and health and wellbeing. Each individual unit will achieve EPC A and BREEAM Very Good ratings, as a minimum through the inclusion of photovoltaic solar system, hybrid air source heat pumps, electric vehicle charging and recycled materials.   In addition, St. Modwen Park Newport has been designed with a key focus on promoting health and wellbeing in accordance with the St. Modwen Park Code.  Fitness trails, amenity space and structured landscapes are all included in the wider development as standard.  Richard Carter Construction Director St Modwen Logistics said: “St. Modwen Park Newport is a key strategic gateway site, where 213,000 sq ft of sustainable warehouse space is already complete. This 100-acre business park is designed to St. Modwen’s Swan Standard which offers enhancements across five key areas: environment and sustainability, wellbeing, community, transport, and security. Glencar awarded debut instructions from St. Modwen Logistics on two new logistics and manufacturing developments

The projects will see the construction of a new 196,000 sq ft build to suit manufacturing facility for Stovax at a site in Exeter in addition to a 89,000 sq ft industrial distribution unit for Furniturebox at a site in Chippenham. Glencar, an expanding construction company specialising in the industrial, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, life science and pharmaceutical sectors has today announced that it has been awarded two new project instructions by logistics and industrial specialist St. Modwen Logistics at strategic development sites in Exeter and Chippenham. At the site in Exeter within St Modwen’s Skypark Development in Clyst Honiton, Glencar will construct a 196,000 sq ft build to suit manufacturing facility for Stovax – the UK’s largest stove and fireplace producer. In addition to the base build works Glencar will undertake Cat A and Cat B fit out together with associated external works. At the site at St Modwen Park in Chippenham, Glencar will undertake the construction of a single unit of 89,000 sq ft of industrial distribution and storage space, complete with integral offices, internal plant deck and associated external works for online furniture specialist Furniturebox. Both projects are due to commence shortly and be completed during Q2 2021. Speaking about the double appointment Glencar Managing Director Eddie McGillycuddy said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive our first, inaugural double project instruction from leading industrial and logistics specialist St. Modwen Logistics to construct two new build to suit projects at key sites within their expanding U.K. portfolio.
