Morgan Sindall is tipped for the job to build a gateway building for Huddersfield University’s Schools of Law and Music and Humanities in the city.
Yorkshire firm GB Building Solutions had been lined up as main contractor for the contract prior to it falling in to administration in March.
Now the University is understood to be in talks with Morgan Sindall to take on the £22m contract to build its new Shorehead Building in the Queensgate area of the city.
The proposed landmark building, which was granted planning in April, will provide 80,000 sq ft of space over six stories and is expected to take around 18 months to build.
Huddersfield University was aiming to complete the build by September 2016, prior to GB Building going under.
