Idom Merebrook Ltd, a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is making further investment in the Scottish market this year encouraged by real signs of growth in Scotland’s construction industry.

Idom Merebrook opened their first office in Stirling two years ago to support increasing business opportunities developing in Scotland. Their Scottish division has now taken on more staff and moved into larger premises at Stirling University’s Innovation Park; to both accommodate the bigger team and facilitate further expansion plans later this year.

Over eighty per cent of Idom Merebrook’s business in Scotland is within the construction industry, encompassing both industrial and residential sectors.

The team is currently working on a variety of construction projects including a large scale residential development in the Scottish Borders, and following their appointment as Owner’s Assistant to leading tyre manufacturer, Michelin Tyre PLC, the team is now supervising the construction phase of the new tyre curing workshop in Dundee, due to be complete in May this year.

In Forres, Idom Merebrook has also recently completed a renovation project for the Glasgow School of Arts new research and teaching facility at Altyre Estate. The scope of work included converting a collection of Grade A listed building into a world-class university research facility, featuring an art studio and exhibition rooms, lecture halls and a laboratory.

To make the most of the opportunity, we have recently become an SER Approved Certifier for Design so we can now extend our structural engineering services to existing and new clients

Also in the region, we foresee a big opportunity for construction works associated with the decommissioning of North Sea oil and gas installations. This will require significant onshore facilitates to accommodate and could be a massive opportunity and work for generations to come.”
