Great Yarmouth Ceilings, a leading interiors contractor, has won the Great Family Owned Business Award at their local Spirit of Enterprise Awards. Great Yarmouth Ceiling’s Managing Director, Stuart Adams, explains why this business award means so much to them:
“We’re really proud to be a family business. The company was started 40 years ago by my Dad, Keith Adams. He still works here, as does my wife, my brother, my cousin and even family friends. We’ve grown and diversified a lot since then. The fact that we’re a strong, family business has been really key to that success.
We know how each other think, work and thrive in the business environment. We know each other’s strengths. We also have the freedom to challenge each other’s ideas, which can make for some interesting discussions, but ultimately brings the best out of the business.”
Great Yarmouth Ceilings provides a single point of contact for ceilings, partitions, glazed partitions, dry lining, plastering and more, working with both commercial and residential developers. Stuart continues:
“Whilst we now work on big projects across East Anglia and into London, Great Yarmouth still holds a special place in our hearts. It felt very fitting to be recognised for our hard work in our “home town” as we celebrate our 40th anniversary.”
The awards, now in their 10th year, are organised by enterpriseGY, Great Yarmouth Borough Council’s business support service, to encourage enterprise in Great Yarmouth. The award was presented at a prestigious annual celebration.
“It was great to see the construction industry represented at these awards. The past decade has come with its challenges for the industry. Thanks to our strong reputation and our ability to adapt to the changing economic situation, we’re able to show that we’re thriving.”
