A free half day event to provide self employed builders and small construction companies with practical help and advice on how to protect their health. Topics covered to include – noise & vibration, dust, drugs and alcohol awareness, wellbeing. The event will consist of talks and demonstrations with the opportunity to ask questions from those within the industry as well as HSE inspectors. This event is a must as the information given on the day will help you take action to protect your health in the future. 19th April 2016 – The Durham Centre, Belmont, Durham DH1 1TN
Temporary Works (TW) are the parts of a construction project that are needed to enable the permanent works to be built, it is the link between design and construction. Usually the TW are removed after use, for example access scaffolds, props, shoring, excavation support, falsework and formwork, etc. TW may also include hoarding, signage, fencing and road plates.
This half day event aims to promote awareness and knowledge of the importance of managing TW and to improve contractors’ management arrangements of TW. The target audience is supervisors, managers, directors and those responsible for TW.
