Are You Prepared for Unpredicted Spikes in Call Volume?

When you first started your business, it was just you (and perhaps a partner or two) and a small office space. Over the years, you’ve added employees, departments, and capabilities. Eventually, you saw the need to equip your corporate office with a designated customer service center. Owning and running your own startup requires an unparalleled level of dedication, vision, and hardwork. But in addition to these qualities, you need a desire to keep your customers happy and to meet their expectations every step of the way. You have to be in lockstep with trends in product quality and the customer service experience. Nothing preserves customer loyalty more than ensuring that even during the busiest times, their concerns are addressed in a timely and helpful manner. But what about unpredicted spikes in call volume? How can your call center handle that? Tracking trends in call volume In order to best handle unpredicted changes in call volume, you must first establish when your busiest hours are and ensure that you’re well equipped for those times. Inbound calls tend to come in waves, with high points and stagnant points during the day. However, if you have international clients, your agents may be receiving calls all day in waves. Make sure that your supervisors are tracking your busiest hours, so that you can make sure that your team is well staffed. You should also track the reasons behind your fluctuations in call volume. Have you had a recent sale? Has a product been recalled? Keep in mind that high call volumes may not be a permanent situation, but rather a temporary one. Outsourced call centers After analyzing your average call volume, you may find that you’re missing coverage in the event of unexpected call spikes. In this case, it may be time to consider bringing on an outsourced call center. Outsourcers are typically more fully staffed and more capable of handling unanticipated increases in volume due to their larger capacity. They also tend to train their agents to be flexible and able to handle a variety of customer complaints, while in-house staff tend to be focused on single products or scenarios. Using skill-based routing, call centers can ensure that calls are dealt with efficiently and adequately, saving your customers time and you money. Additionally, an outsourced call center will be well equipped to capture and analyze data in reference to customer needs, requests, habits, etc. In the case of more advanced, cloud-based call centers, all of this information can be stored in the easy-to-access cloud. When searching for your ideal customer service solution, look for an Oracle call center.

How to Start a Construction Company: Tips Before You Get Started

Starting a company is always a big step. Not only do you need to carefully think about everything that’s on the table, but you need to bear in mind that it’s a complicated process that will cost you a lot of money unless you plan it to the smallest detail. So, there are many different types of companies that you can start, but today, we’re going to focus on one that can be quite rewarding financially – starting a construction company. Now, there are plenty of things that you need to keep in mind, and tips that don’t apply to starting a different kind of company. So, if you had this in mind, let’s move on to the most important tips before you start your own construction company. What should you know? Make a killer business plan This is the most important thing, as your business plan will serve as the guide for your construction company. The things that you include in the business plan will be the things that differentiate you from the rest of your competition. Moreover, the business plan is there to make sure that you have thought about all the different aspects of your future business. This will include a summary of your job, the description of the company, any marketing and sales plans, and also your financial projections. Have everything you need Another quite important thing is that you have what you need from the very beginning. Apart from the interior of your office, which needs to be pretty (as your clients will judge a book by its cover), have the necessary equipment on which you will definitely spend a lot of money. Never try to save money on this as the equipment and the materials are the pillars of your business. You can save money by looking for trucks for sale and finding good ones that are offered at a price that matches their quality. Sometimes you might pay more for a certain thing, but if it will help you save money on replacing it in the long run, it’s a good idea. Take care of the business registration Now that you have drafted a business plan and that you acquired all the essential equipment for your business, it’s time to start thinking about the rules, licenses and registrations. Bear in mind that the location of your business plays a very significant role. Your town, city or country might have specific rules and regulations, so you really need to do a bit of research on the topic. As far as licenses are concerned, you will probably need to have specific licenses that will make it possible for you to do your job. Also, don’t forget that there might be special licenses and permits that you need in order to bid on government contracts (which is a very important thing that can make your company much stronger). Think of business insurance Obviously, you need to think about the insurance of your company. The first thing to think about is the general liability insurance, as it will protect you against worksite injuries, among other things. Also, think about other vehicle and property insurance policies just to make sure that your new construction company’s equipment and machines are covered in case of an unforeseen issue. Think about business loans Now would be the perfect time to start thinking about any loans that you might need. Starting a construction company is not an easy and cheap task, so you will definitely need some help on the side. Put on paper everything that you need and see which things you can rent or purchase for a small price (such as tools, for example, but once again, make sure they are in perfectly good order). Once you finish with your business plan, you can present it to the bank and ask for the loan that you need. There are different business loans that you can apply for (but these differ from country to country and from state to state, so acquaint yourself with these different options). Basically, starting a construction company is a pricy and challenging task. However, it’s not impossible, and if you play your cards right, you might end up earning three or more times more than you invested. So, good luck and remember – think carefully!

10 Ways to Browse the Internet Securely and Privately

Taking a saying from one of the most successful – if not the most successful – TV series of all time (Game of Thrones), the above could not be truer. One moment, you could be checking out some cute cat videos on YouTube and the next, you land on a website that scrambles your device’s data, demanding a token (ransom) before they release it to you. That makes it very important to ensure the safety and privacy of your personal data when browsing the web. Here are some tips to help you make that happen. 1) Install A Secure Browser You need a browser to access the Internet. This makes your choice of browser the first step in ensuring your online safety. ‘How?’ You may ask. You may not know this, but some of the common web browsers out there are equipped with various security settings designed to keep you safe while surfing the Internet. An example of this is the SmartScreen URL and Application Reputation Filtering feature which Microsoft has incorporated into its Edge browser since as far back as 2017. What this feature basically does is run checks on the reputation of websites you choose to access before they load into your browser. Should there be any funny business in the code of such a website, Microsoft Edge notifies you immediately. From that point, you get the option to choose whether you’d like to proceed to the website or go back at that point. As of the time of this writing, the best browsers you can go for (in terms of usability and security, which are the most important things here) are: Google Chrome Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge 2) Use HTTPS wherever possible When websites first started gaining traction, they worked on a protocol known as HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol). As time went on, there came the need for better security on the Internet, which brought about the last ‘S’ which stands for ‘Secure.’ Ever since it has always been the best thing to browse websites with https in their domain name rather than the old http. One thing you should always look out for is that extra ‘s.’ In fact, it is possible for you to access the unsecured form of a website which has a secure version, so keep an eye out for that too. Better still, download the ‘HTTPS Everywhere’ extension for your browser. That will force every we bite you visit to transmit over the secure channel, giving you more protection than before. 3) Stay Away from Public Wi-Fi Sometimes, the problem is not with the browser you are using. Likewise, the website you are accessing might not be at fault. That potential breach waiting to happen could just be a function of the kind of connection you are surfing the Internet with. Public Wi-Fi is almost everywhere you step into these days: Cafes, shops, parks, hospitals, airports… you name it. Since they usually come free, it is no surprise that many people prefer to use these networks when they have the chance. What you do not know is that you are exposing yourself too much for comfort. If you ever stopped to think about the true cost of free, public Wi-Fi networks, you would not want to pay it anymore. For one, the offerors of such networks (i.e. the shops, park operators, airports, etc.) can see all you do on the network and even record your Internet data. In the same vein, an experienced hacker can intercept your messages (man in the middle attacks), inject malware onto every computer connected to such a Wi-Fi network, and even steal sensitive information (bank login, passwords, etc.). 4) Manage your Cookies Better Cookies are supposed to be one of the best things that ever happened to web browsers. They are the tiny bits of code that keep you logged in to a website from the first time you visited. They do so much more than that: helping to keep your location preferences, language choices and other settings fixed on websites. Well, until advertisers and hackers got wind of what they could do with those cookies too. Now, advertisers can place a cookie on your browser when you visit their website. This cookie will track your activity throughout the Internet, collecting information on websites you visit. Hackers can use the same cookies to steal your passwords and record your key logs, among other things. While it is not advisable to get rid of all cookies (unless you don’t mind having to log in to every website every single time), you should keep track of the cookies your browser is storing. Keep the ones you need and discard the others. This might take extra time, but that is a small price to pay for your security. 5 Use a VPN Another sure-fire way to keep all prying eyes out is to always be connected througha secure VPN. If you have ever used a VPN before, you will know they are designed to change your IP address (computer’s location) without you having to change physical location. Thus, you can access the web from the US while being physically based in Australia, or anywhere else in the world. Following up the point on cookies, this feature of VPNs allows you keep your location anonymous if anyone were to be collecting your personal data. Speaking of data collection, a VPN also tunnels your Internet traffic through a massive array of servers whenever you connect to the Internet. This throws anyone following your trail off track, keeping you as anonymous as you would like to be. 6 Try Alternate forms of Payments The Internet has grown to the point where we can simply buy things and pay for them online. To make such payments, vendor websites will require your card details. Basically, your card details hold every information there is to know about you: your name, and access to your finances. That sounds like a hacker’s heaven. It is

Doctoral students need substantial research which is a piece of document in order to get doctoral students. However, it is not difficult to write a dissertation if the student chooses the right topic and strategy. In some countries, thesis and dissertation are interchangeable whereas, in some countries, thesis work is done after a master’s degree and dissertation after graduation. The dissertation is no doubt a most important part of the entire educational career of the student. It is the last stage of the educational career and has a lot of academic value. Most of the students fail to give their best in dissertation work and become completely disappointed. There are many complex and hard challenges that a student comes across and loses his enthusiasm with which he starts working on the dissertation The key to writing an effective dissertation is to get the right direction to focus and accelerate. Here are a few guidelines to help you get started with the dissertation writing service UK without any problem. 1.  Make a timetable to follow: As a matter of fact, writing the dissertation comes with very limited time. Most of the students face the problem of the limited time period. Therefore, it is required by all the students to keep their speed of dissertation fast so that they can write in time. The best to do this is to assign yourself a deadline for completing a specific portion of the dissertation. Try to figure out how much work you are needed to do each day to reach your goals. Assign several hours to yourself; you are capable of working in order to write a dissertation. Make a timetable and stick to it. 2.  Structure your dissertation task properly: In order to write the dissertation well, you need to know how to format and structure your task. For example, the objectives of writing the dissertation can never be written after specifying the methodology. As a dissertation writer, you should know which detail to add where. In general, the components are added in the following sequence Title Objectives of the dissertation Research to be conducted Strategies Potential expected results Timeframe References from where the data has been collected 3.  Edit the language of the dissertation properly: Generally, the students are asked to write their dissertation in the English language all across the world. Those students really face problem in writing the dissertation in English if their native language is not English. This will help you get the necessary feedback from them sooner. It will be easier for you to remove the mistakes from the dissertation document which have pointed out by the supervisor if you do it early. The revision one along the way also saves you from the revisions at the end which are very time consuming and hectic. 5.  Conduct comprehensive research: Researching is a major part of writing the dissertation document. You will never be able to write the dissertation document in time if you don’t consult right and relevant sources for information. It is always advisable to find several resources from where you can collect data for your dissertation. While adding the researched content into your work, make sure that the content you have added is relevant to the topic on which you are conducting the research. Also, check the previous research on the same topic to know who to make your dissertation a difficult piece of article.

Kite Packaging introduces new chilled packaging range with 100% recyclable and eco-friendly products

Employee-owned business, Kite Packaging, has introduced a new, innovative chilled packaging range to its product offering. The new temperature controlled range includes five different products that offer high quality, thermal protection for a wide variety of temperature sensitive goods on the market. When it comes to transporting produce from the food and drink industry, pharmaceuticals or other temperature sensitive goods, it can often prove challenging to maintain their desired temperature. These products need to stay at a certain temperature to ensure they remain fit for purpose, therefore they require sufficient packaging which will do exactly that whilst offering secure protection. Kite’s new enviro-friendly insulated boxes are produced from materials with insulating properties that outperform polystyrene. The outer layer is produced from 100% recyclable, environmentally-friendly Kraft paper and the internal layer is made up of 100% biodegradable starch-based loose fill that not only preserves the in-the-box temperature but also provides cushioning protection. The next product Kite has launched is its new insulated box liners. These are comprised of a metallised polyester outer layer to reflect heat away from the product, a bubble wrap middle layer to provide an interval of cushioning insulation and an inner HDPE foam layer offering high resistance against moisture and chemicals as well as further insulation. For businesses who are distributing large pallet size quantities of stock requiring a temperature sensitive environment through transit, the Kite team recommend their new thermal pallet covers. These are equipped with the same properties as the insulated box liners, therefore also providing strong resistance to low temperatures against damage in transit. Due to the foldable, stackable and lightweight structure, these pallet covers provide a reduction in warehouse costs, transportation costs and operational internal carriages. If teamed with the insulating box liners, businesses can help their products get to their destination in the optimum environment. Other essential chilled packaging solutions that can help maintain temperatures on the road are coolants. Ideal for overnight shipments, Kite’s new ice sheets and gel packs will maintain low, internal temperatures to ensure products such as food, fish and pharmaceuticals remain fit for purpose. The gel packs simply require freezing, whereas the ice sheets need to be submerged in water for activation, turning them in to a gel pack which can then be frozen. The real benefit of the ice sheets is their flat pack composition which ensures minimal use of valuable storage space in the warehouse. The final thermal product the Kite team have introduced is their temperature controlled pouches which act as effective insulating protection for smaller items for a shorter length of time. For more information on Kite Packaging’s new chilled packaging range or for more about the business’s other packaging solutions, please visit kitepackaging.co.uk.
