Barratt Developments Announces the Opening of 12 New Sites

Barratt Developments, Scotland’s leading housebuilder, has announced its plans to open 12 new sites across Scotland where 2280 homes will be built during 2018. Apart from this home building programme, Barratt will continue to invest in land, hoping to acquire up to 16 new sites until next year.

The programme will see the creation of 100 new jobs in Scotland and the support of over 6200 existing jobs. Some of the new developments that will be launched at the beginning of this year are Brae of Yetts in Kirkintilloch, Preston Square in Prestonpans, and The Fairways in Drumpellier. There is a constant demand for homes in key locations across Scotland and Barratt wants to make sure that local businesses and people can benefit directly from it, therefore their employ predominately local sub-contractors and tradesmen.

The housebuilder also saw a successful 2017, opening 14 new sites across Scotland with a total of 2500 new homes for sale. Mains of Culduthel near Inverness, Weirs Wynd in Brookfield, and The Woodlands in Dalkeith are the new sites that were launched last year.

These achievements were recognised by industry peers and customers and ten of its site managers were awarded by the National House Building Council’s Pride in the Job Quality Awards. Home Builders Federation customer satisfaction survey also awarded Barratt with a 5 star rating for the eight year in a row, meaning that more than 90% of customers would recommend them to a friend.

“The quality of our homes and our high levels of customer service are key to our ongoing success. Our NHBC Pride in the Job Award winning site managers and our HBF five star status demonstrate our credentials and, more importantly, reflect the importance we place on putting our customers first. We’re looking forward to another strong year in 2018,” said Douglas McLeod, Regional Managing Director for Barratt Developments in Scotland.
