A-Plant has appointed Barry Furlong to run its formwork, falsework and groundwork hire business, Leada Acrow. Barry Furlong has been in the formwork and scaffolding industry for 30 years. He recently moved back to the UK after 20 years in the Middle East. His most recent position was in Oman, where he was general manager for RMD Kwikform. Before that, he worked for Harsco Infrastructure for 20 years, latterly as director of its United Arab Emirates business. At Leada Acrow he replaces Simon Coveney, who joined from Peri in 2013. “I am delighted to be joining Leada Acrow, a company with a great history and a fantastic looking future,” Mr Furlong said. “Supported by the Ashtead Group and with a strong business partner in Meva, the numerous opportunities this combination offered were major influences for me to take up this position. Leada Acrow has an impressive hire fleet of equipment and the team is amongst the most experienced in the industry, so I am looking forward to the time ahead and using my experience to help develop new and existing markets for Leada Acrow.” Above: Barry Furlong
