In a significant acknowledgement of the sustainable construction practices undertaken on the construction of a 56,000 sq ft warehouse development Glencar was honoured with the award of the highly prestigious international ‘Helping the Environment Green Apple Award’ at the International Green Apple Awards for Environmental Best Practice. The completed warehouse, delivered for customer JP Morgan prioritised sustainability at all levels, from energy consumption through to recycled material options. Glencar, a leading UK construction company that was recently ranked amongst Europe’s fastest growing businesses, yesterday announced that it is been awarded the prestigious international ‘Helping the Environment Green Apple’ Award on its Bardon Hill project in Leicestershire.  The project saw the construction of a new 56,000 sq ft warehouse for JP Morgan with sustainability prioritised throughout the build process from energy consumption through to recycled material options. The International Green Apple Awards, presided over by The Green Organization honour achievements for International Environmental Best Practice and are much coveted.  The ceremony on the 20th November was held at the iconic Palace of Westminster and served as a momentous occasion both for the industry together with Glencar and its project delivery partners. The project brought together a paragon of highly sustainable, leading edge construction practices, integrating innovative and environmentally friendly techniques, alongside extensive waste management, recycling, resource efficiency and carbon reduction initiatives. It involved building a 56,000 sq ft warehouse with office space, parking, and landscaping. Lime stabilisation and prefabricated steel frame construction were used to reduce energy consumption and promote recyclability. Other sustainability initiatives included waste management, biodiversity promotion, mental health campaigns, and supporting local communities. The award directly recognises the project team’s achievements with the scheme achieving a BREEAM Outstanding score for the build of 87.2% and 100% for waste category performance.  It exceeds industry standards, and implemented innovative solutions like rainwater harvesting and solar panels, Attending the event to collect the award was Glencar Operations Director; Kevin O’Connor, Commercial Manager; Adam Scott and Project Manager; Mat Stowe who oversaw construction and the processes involved from start to finish. Glencar awarded further instruction by Wrenbridge to build £32M sustainable multi-industrial scheme in Aylesford

Glencar, a leading UK construction company that was recently ranked amongst Europe’s fastest growing businesses, has just announced that it has been appointed by leading property development company Wrenbridge and specialist sustainable and impact investor Bridges Fund Management, to build a new six-unit industrial warehouse development totalling 302,844 sq ft at a strategic development site in Aylesford, Kent, named Click Aylesford. The works will see construction of six highly sustainable new industrial warehouse buildings, completed in shell form with finished open plan offices at first floor, resulting in total development GEA of 302,844  sq ft. The project is adjacent to the M20 motorway and a Network Rail line and includes Section 278 works. Construction of the development is due to start in July and is expected to take 52 weeks, with the expected PC by the end of August 2024. Being marketed as Fulwood 190, the 14-acre development is situated on the established Fulwood Industrial Estate, which is adjacent to the A38 (Alfreton Road) and approximately 1.5 miles from Junction 28 of the M1 motorway. J28 is recognised as the largest strategic cluster of distribution space in the northern part of the East Midlands. 240,000 sq. ft warehouse to be situated at Alexandra Dock in Bootle within Peel Ports Port of Liverpool development. Glencar, a leading UK construction company that was recently ranked amongst Europe’s fastest growing businesses, has today announced that it has been appointed by leading UK Port Operator Peel Ports to construct a new 240,000 sq. ft warehouse facility at Alexandra Docks within Peel Ports Port of Liverpool development located in Bootle. The new £28M facility, which constitutes the biggest single investment in warehousing at the Port of Liverpool over the last six years will be the length of up to five football pitches (400 metres) and used for the handling and storage of cargo at the port. It will be able to store a variety of commodities, both unitised and non-unitised requiring indoor storage..  The facility will also have a dedicated quay and cranes to optimise vessel discharge as part of the new development.  The scope of works includes for the design and construction of a 240,000 sq. ft warehouse referred to as Alexandra Dock Multi User Warehouse (MUW). Works include piling, foundations, push walls, a single span warehouse frame, cladding and roof lights. Externally surfacing and road construction for HGV access and crane loading. External Barriers, bollards, fencing and gates. External vehicle wash bay. Office and welfare facilities. Weighbridges and marshalling cabin along with a separate office block. The works commenced in April and overall is expected to take 22 weeks, with practical completion expected towards the end of September 2023. Glencar wins significant fit-out project to equip giant new GLP warehouse development

The unit which totals 602,000 sq ft was built by leading logistics developer GLP and is the largest and most sustainable logistics building in the North of England. Glencar, a leading UK construction company that was recently ranked amongst Europe’s fastest growing businesses, has today announced that it has been appointed by Maersk, the Danish shipping and logistics company to undertake comprehensive fit-out works at Mammoth 602, a 602,000 sq ft warehouse development situated at GLP’s G-Park Doncaster development that it has recently occupied. The £12M project will comprise of the fit out of the existing office areas to category A standard, Warehouse high level services and minor external works alterations. Warehouse area fit-out includes lighting, sprinklers including works associated, frost protection, fire alarm and small power. Works started at the beginning of February are expected to be complete at end of the September 2023. G-Park Doncaster is situated in the logistics capital of the North, just 6 miles from the centre of Doncaster, providing easy access to all parts of the UK and mainland Europe via its central position, along with a vast skilled workforce. Harwell appoints Glencar to deliver new Moderna vaccine manufacturing hub in Oxfordshire

Significant project will be built at the Harwell Science and Innovation campus and encompass a new research, development and manufacturing facility Glencar, a leading UK construction company that was recently ranked amongst Europe’s fastest growing businesses, has today announced that it has been appointed by Harwell Campus, the world-renowned science and innovation campus to build a new £150M Moderna Innovation and Technology Centre (MITC) at the Harwell Campus in Oxfordshire. The MITC development will encompass a research, development and manufacturing facility, providing the UK public with access to cutting-edge mRNA vaccines for a wide range of respiratory diseases, pending regulatory assessment and license.   The new facility will also include a clinical biomarker laboratory, a prefabricated modular laboratory constructed in Northumberland which will then be installed on the campus. Construction will begin this year, with the facility expected to become operational in 2025, subject to planning and regulatory approvals. The new 116,000 sq. ft sustainable scheme which was developed speculatively is the third development to date to be recently delivered by Glencar for St. Modwen Logistics, with one unit of 17,000 sq. ft already pre-let.
