The company is based in Devizes and will be supplying systems to the new Bond Street, Farringdon, Liverpool Street, Whitechapel and Woolwich stations. These stations, when complete will form a part of the Elizabeth Line, created as a part of the Crossrail project. The systems that will be supplied to the project by Wrightstyle will include blast rated curtain walling, structurally glazed screens and a fire-rated and ballistic screens. The work on these stations is expected to continue until the end of 2018, when the line is meant to be fully operational. The Crossrail project has been created in order to increase the rail capacity in London by 10% when the line is fully up and running. The Elizabeth Line will cost around £14.8 billion in total and will feature 40 stations. Of these 40 stations visited by the new railway, ten will be new. It is thought that the Elizabeth Line will have the capacity for 24 trains each hour in both directions across the 100km of the new route. For the work that has been carried out is Whitechapel Station, Wrightstyle was contracted by Kilnbridge and asked to fabricate, supply and install a range of curtain wall screens that will form a part of the new ticket hall which will be located on a mezzanine floor. In the past Wrightstyle has supplied airports around the world, delivering a high level of protection against a range of threats. This high safety standard is why the Wrightstyle have been selected to carry out work on the Crossrail project.

Gas Safety Week, co-ordinated by Gas Safe Register, is held every year to raise awareness of poorly maintained gas appliances, and the seriousness of the associated consequences. This year, gas safety is more relevant than ever, with the aforementioned research highlighting a 10% rise in suspected CO poisoning cases over the last two years. Jon Philips, head of product management for Baxi, said: “Every day, four people will go to hospital with CO poisoning, which is a deeply worrying statistic. Gas Safety Week is an opportunity to consider how we can reduce gas related incidents through taking every available precaution when it comes to installing and maintaining gas appliances. “For gas installers, CO is an all too familiar risk. As industry experts out on the front line they are ideally placed to help hammer the message home and raise awareness of safety standards across the board. Gas safety is about educating both the industry and the general public, and the awareness raised by Gas Safety Week is vital to that.” There are a number of simple ways installers can help to pass gas safety advice onto others. Be it a new installation, general call out or an annual service, every job is an opportunity to educate customers on the dangers of CO and the steps they can take to stay safe. For properties with fuel-burning appliances installed, such as a wood-burning fire or gas boiler, it’s best practice to ensure each floor is fitted with a minimum of one CO alarm, and the boiler should be regularly serviced by a Gas Safe registered heating engineer. As well as protecting against the risk of CO poisoning, carbon monoxide alarms can provide an early warning sign of failing gas appliances, making them an important tool in improving safety. Gloves A major safety issue during engineering activities is the very real threat of potentially serious hand and finger injuries. Regular contact with dangerous machinery as well as hazardous substances can be extremely damaging to your hands, so it’s vital that safety gloves are worn at all times. As well as protecting against hazards, an engineer may find themselves working outside with their hands exposed during winter months. During these times, safety gloves can help shield the skin from frost and chills – both of which are a very common occurrence when the temperature starts to drop. High visibility clothing If you’re working on a site, it’s usually a requirement that you wear high visibility clothing.
